Disability Services 2024

It's the University's goal that all attendees are able to fully participate in the ceremony. Please see below for details regarding parking, entry, and seating.

Parking

All UT garages offer ADA reserved parking (available to vehicles valid placard or state-issued license plate) and elevators. Manor Garage is adjacent to The Moody Center and offers an ADA-accessible path to the arena. Trinity Garage and Brazos Garage are both a short walk to The Moody Center.

An ADA drop-off location is available on the east side of the Moody Center, accessible from Red River Street. Note that only active loading and un-loading is allowed in this area. From this location, attendees can enter the arena at the concourse level.

Seating

The Moody Center offers a limited number of ADA-accessible seats, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Event staff at each entry door can assist guests in locating available ADA-accessible seats.

Wheelchair Assistance

The Moody Center offers wheelchair assistance between the entrance/exit and seating. Upon entering the arena, guests can request wheelchair assistance from event staff located at each entrance. Wheelchairs are available for transport-only, guests may not remain in them during the program. Wheelchair assistance is not available to/from the restroom nor to/from vehicles/garages.

Honorees

Honorees with disabilities, who need accommodations to participate in either a convocation ceremony or the university-wide Honors Day ceremony, are asked to contact honorsday@austin.utexas.edu with details as soon as possible. Requests made less than 48 hours before the event may not be accommodated.
